Located : Pahklok sub - distric, Thaland district, Phuket
Khao Phra Taew Wildlife Conservation Support and Development Office are located 3 kms right off the Two Heroines Monument.
Khao Phra Taew Forestry Preservation is abundant with tropical plants and wildlife. It is also the main upstream of the island, especially for Ton Sai Waterfall where is one of the most popular recreational place for Phuket residents. To preserve the upstream, Department of Forestry established Khao Phra Taew Nation Park office in September 1977. This Nation Park covers the area of 13,925 rai or 22.28 square kilometer. Recently the Nation Park Office’ s name was changed to Khao Phra Taew Wildlife Conservation Support and Development Office.
Khao Phra Taew or Phra Taew Mountain lays south throng north of Thalang district. The south of the mountain is the hills with 380 – 400 height above the sea level. As mentioned above that this forest is the main upstream of the island so there are lots of streams flow down and original fascinating waterfalls. Along the waterway, there are plenty Granites the help to reduce rapids making the water absorbed into the ground easily. Some area on the mountain, there are exploded rocks that later transformed to Humus naturally.

Khao Phra Taew or Phra Taew Mountain

Phra Taew Mountain has 2 seasons, rainy and summer. The rainy season lasts for 8 months, April – November, while summer lasts for 4 months, December – March. The average temperature is 31-Celsius degree. There are 180 rainy days a year and the average rain water level is 2,350 - 2,700 mm a year, depends on variation of the monsoon.
In this tropical rain forest, we can easily find rubber trees and Hopea odorata Roxb that is very valuable. Other trees found here is Malacca Teak, Alistonia scholaria R.Br., Amoora pllystachya, and Stink bean, Parkia timoriana Merr. MARACEAE, MELIACEAE, MYRISTICACEAE, ANACARDIACEAE, ANNONACEAE, PALMAE, GNETACEAE, GUTTIFERAE, 100species of birds and etc.

In this forest will meet wild general animals areas station area, such as a monkey, gibbon, civet, squirrels, and etc. Furthermore, it is the only place in the world that we can find Thalang Governor Palms.
