Located in Moo.3, Paklok sub - district, Thalang district, Phuket is the Bangrong Community.
People Phuket in the Bangrong community earn their income from working in fishery, rubber plantations and orchards.
There are also the community's smaller organization supporting alternative careers like cooping fishery, horse
Crabs growing and community's shops. Most of villagers living there are Muslims, 80%, so we can see that there are two huge Mosques in the village. Other 20 % are Buddhists.
Agricultural tourism is the new options of travel that tourist can relax and get knowledge about local careers and lifestyles.
This kind of touring is especially popular in the Bangrong community because of its abundant natural resources and fascinating scenery.
Travelers visiting here are offered a chance to observe the marine life in mangrove forests and the lifestyle of locals who live close to nature.
The mangrove forests cover around 1,000 rai of the Bangrong area and this reflects the effort of the local’s Conscious mind to protect nature from being endangered. They do not doubt that tourism brings in income to the community, and so they provide ecotourism, as they believe that it is the best way both villagers and the nature survive side by side.
Apart from activities mentioned above, there are lots of interesting eco tour program such as kayaking, sea canoeing, cooping fishery demonstration, Bird watching, visiting Gibbon Rehabilitation Project, Fiddler crabs watching, dining among the mangrove forest at community's restaurant, drinking coffee in the morning at the local cafe' and etc.
Tour Programs :
Program 1: Forest trekking and floating through Bangrong mangrove forest.
09.30 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. The program starts with forest trekking at Khao Phra Taew; visiting Gibbon rehabilitation Project, stop for lunch at the community's restaurant.
And continue with kayaking to see the mangrove forest and the local lifestyle. Priced 700 Baht/person
Program 2: Floating in the evening
05.00 p.m. - 06.30 p.m. The program starts with sailing to the sea with local fishermen for fishing and camping on Naka Island. Prices 4,200 Baht/limited 6 people (Included dinner)
Program 3: Sailing to the Island
09.30 a.m. - 04.00 p.m. The program starts with sailing to Panak Island in Phang Nga, visiting Bat Cave, Oyster Cave and Ice cream Cave, stop for lunch at Panak Island and sailing back to Naka Island. Priced 7,200 Bath/limited 5 people (included lunch)
Program 4: Dinning at community's restaurant and kayaking through Bangrong canal to see an ecological system of the mangrove forest. Kayak rental service: 200/hr.
Remake: All the program may be changed due to the weather conditions.
Hoe to get there? From the two heroines monument, turn right into the road leading to Paklok about 10 kms and then true right again at Baan Bangrong T - junction and keep driving for 700 meters, you will finally reach Bangrong Ecotourism Office.
